Hon. Robin Martin, MPP Eglinton-Lawrence, discusses the newly enacted “Bill 141 Defibrillator Registration and Public Access Act.” The bill creates an accessible registry of defibrillators across Ontario to aid those experiencing a cardiac incident.
Currently, Toronto has over 1,500+ defibrillators distributed across the city, the Registry Act (Bill 141) will assist 911 operators with locating defibrillators to the nearest location of the caller—a life-saving initiative that could mitigate a cardiac incident where paramedics are not yet on the scene.
